On the extreme tip of the Cavallino peninsula (VE) between the sea and the lagoon is the Ghebo.
In the last century, the park of today’s Hotel was crossed by a stream that flowed into the lagoon behind it and which was closed.
This marsh, regulated by the tides, shallow and muddy typical of the Venetian lagoon was called Ghebo.
This is where the hotel got its name from.
The Ghebo is 650 meters from the Punta Sabbioni terminal from where the vaporettos leave every thirty minutes, allowing you to reach the city of Venice in forty minutes.
Reaching Piazza San Marco from the sea is a unique and exciting opportunity.
The water transport company (A.C.T.V. VE) offers discounted tickets to tourists for one or more days which allow them to visit not only the city of Venice but the entire lagoon and its islands: Burano, Torcello, Murano, San Francesco del Deserto, San Lazzaro and others, all interesting and each with its own peculiarity.
At the center of the large wooded park with pines, horse chestnuts, lindens, magnolias liquidambar is the hotel Il Ghebo, an old farmhouse built at the beginning of the last century and which has been renovated several times over the years.
Seven small rooms have been created on the first floor…. but with every comfort, they enjoy a view of the garden, the bathrooms all have windows, they are heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer.
In the large garden there is a convenient tree-lined parking.
During the cold season, breakfast is served in the internal rooms heated by the old wood-burning fireplace.
However, as soon as the weather permits, guests can go out under the umbrellas on the terrace in front.
The buffet offers: freshly cooked bread and brioches, honey, jams, nutella, rusks, rice cakes, biscuits, cereals, fresh fruit salad, juices of various flavours, eggs, mixed cold cuts, cheeses, butter and seasonal fruit …. all accompanied by coffee, tea, cappuccino.
